Software Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications or systems.

• Independently develop software applications or collaborate within a team with minimal direction.

• Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code with limited supervision.

• Work with stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements.

• Engage in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers.

• Transform ambiguous requirements into structured, testable details, including edge cases and constraints.

• Identify edge cases and potential failure modes at the outset.

• Create and utilize APIs, including AI APIs, to incorporate AI functionalities into existing software.

• Assess AI-generated code for security, performance, and accuracy.

• Employ AI coding assistants in an iterative AI-human development workflow.

• Produce testable, modular code and engage in unit and integration testing.

• Operate within documented change controls and environments sensitive to compliance.

• Partake in the review of requirements and technical specifications.

• Collaborate across Development, QA, Operations, and Product teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 3 years of software development experience.

• Proficient in .NET/C# and React.

• Familiarity with Python, AWS, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Azure DevOps.

• Knowledge of unit and integration testing frameworks.

• Comprehensive understanding of software architecture and system design.

• Experience working from functional and technical requirements, including those that are incomplete or ambiguous.

• Insight into API contracts and interface design from both consumer and producer viewpoints.

• Acquainted with versioned contract design and backward compatibility.

• Experience using AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or comparable tools.

• Capability to assess AI-generated code for security, performance, accuracy, and maintainability.

• Understanding of prompt engineering principles, including structured prompts and refinement loops.

• Awareness of AI limitations and the risks of hallucination.

• Background in AWS deployment and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of observability and logging best practices.

• Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated environments, covering auditability, traceability, and documented change controls.

• Ability to work effectively within small, cross-functional feature teams.

• Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English in a business context.
