Software Developer – Pipeline

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee and improve the ASP.NET MVC Core application linked to an Oracle backend.

• Analyze, maintain, and upgrade undocumented legacy Classic ASP code across various application modules.

• Produce clean, well-documented C# and JavaScript code adhering to DoD secure coding standards (STIGs).

• Manage and store code within the designated CWBI GitHub Enterprise environment, following DevSecOps practices.

• Establish standardized authentication methods utilizing Login.gov, OpenID, and Keycloak.

• Develop health-check endpoints for automated uptime monitoring.

• Engage in two-week Agile sprint cycles.

• Play a key role in delivering a minimum of ten MVPs each quarter and four significant feature releases annually.

• Participate in code reviews and professional presentations of releases.

• Assist in requirements gathering and UI/UX analysis.

• Support integration with the CWBI Data Strategy by exposing data through OpenAPI-compliant service interfaces.

• Collaborate with the Senior Oracle DBA to optimize query performance and data access patterns.

• Maintain and modernize enterprise web applications for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Walla Walla District.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must have a minimum active Tier 1 (or higher) federal background investigation, favorably adjudicated, prior to commencement.

• Capability to obtain a CAC if required by job responsibilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• At least 5-7 years of experience in full-stack or application development.

• Proficient in .NET Framework/.NET Core MVC web applications associated with Oracle databases.

• Expertise in deciphering, maintaining, and modernizing undocumented Classic ASP code.

• Strong skills in C#, JavaScript, and modern web-based user interface development.

• Proven experience in applying secure coding principles, including DoD STIGs.

• Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps methodologies.

• CompTIA Security+ or a DoD 8140-approved equivalent required within six (6) months of the contract start date.

• Preferred: experience with cloud architecture and migration, preferably AWS GovCloud.

• Preferred: background in federal government or DoD application development.

• Preferred: experience with GitHub Enterprise and contemporary DevSecOps toolchains.

• Preferred: knowledge of microservices architecture and hardened container images.

• EC-Council Certified DevSecOps Engineer (ECDE) is desired for senior/lead positions.
