Software Developer II – Pathology Informatics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Design, document, develop, perform unit testing, conduct system testing, and deploy software applications.

• Collaborate closely with developers, project managers, analysts, leaders, and clinicians to gather regular feedback on design and development.

• Provide support for PIRO, an internal application and search engine for pathology notes and cases.

• Assist with designated tasks and contribute to AI and machine learning initiatives.

• Communicate system issues and their implications effectively.

• Collaborate with team members on the analysis, design, and development of software systems.

• Develop software and carry out proof/testing to ensure a high-quality product.

• Work alongside lead developers, lead engineers, and senior developers to meet software development and engineering standards.

• Suggest cost-effective products and streamlined workflows while aligning with team strategy.

• Observe operational and clinical workflows to create solutions based on observed behaviors.

• Transform clinical challenges into innovative healthcare solutions.

• Provide technical assistance to fellow developers when project support is required.

• Interface with both internal and external customers.

• Collect business and application-specific requirements.

• Ensure requirements are met, maintained within project scope, and documented in the documentation management system.

• Stay updated on industry trends and introduce new ideas and solutions for healthcare applications.

• Troubleshoot issues and provide timely support for fixes and updates.

• Work remotely from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Engineering with two years of experience in software development.

• OR a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related fields with one year of experience.

• OR, if hired into the Digital Mobile Department, two years of iOS and/or Android development experience.

• OR, if hired into Cleveland Clinic Research Institute, two years of experience in bioinformatics software development and/or two years of experience managing and analyzing clinical and bioinformatics research data may be considered as equivalent experience.

• OR, if hired to support ServiceNow technology, two years of ServiceNow experience.

• ITIL Foundations certification is preferred for caregivers in the Information Technology Division.

• Experience with hospital or medical systems is required.

• Knowledge and experience with machine learning and AI algorithms are essential.

• Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of software development is necessary.

• Healthcare experience in pathology/laboratory medicine is advantageous.

• Extensive experience with Python, API integration, FASTAPI, JavaScript, CC3, HTML, Angular, and SQL is required.

• Experience in health software, hospital medical systems, Epic Clarity, and lab medicine is preferred.

• Capability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.

• Willingness to travel throughout the hospital system as required.

• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment effectively.

• Strong communication skills to exchange accurate information are necessary.

• Compliance with standard precautions using personal protective equipment is mandatory.
