Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.

📋 Description

• Design, enhance, and sustain applications hosted in the cloud.

• Develop and oversee REST APIs and backend services using Spring Boot and Java.

• Create user interfaces utilizing JSP, Knockout, and jQuery.

• Execute database design, development, and optimization with Oracle DB.

• Employ Eclipse Link JPA for data persistence.

• Oversee version control using Subversion (SVN).

• Implement JWT and YAML for secure data processing and configuration management.

• Create and maintain Shell and PowerShell scripts for automation and operational functions.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical specifications.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Communicate with functional resources to elucidate complex technical ideas.

• Facilitate smooth production deployments and application modernization efforts.

• Travel occasionally to meet business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related discipline with at least 3 years of experience.

• A minimum of 5 years in designing and implementing REST APIs.

• At least 4 years of experience with JavaScript frameworks such as JSP, Knockout, and jQuery.

• A minimum of 3 years working with Oracle DB and Eclipse Link JPA.

• Proficiency in scripting with Shell and PowerShell.

• Experience in Spring Boot and Java development.

• Skilled in using Subversion (SVN).

• Familiarity with JWT and YAML for secure data management and configuration.

• Capability to interact with functional resources and convey complex technical concepts in a professional manner.

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory.

• Occasional travel may be necessary.

• Preferred: experience with MAVEN, SOLR/Lucene, Maria DB, JUnit, Angular, Git, and GitHub Actions.

• Preferred: understanding of browser security principles and best practices.
