This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to transform ideas, workflows, operational challenges, and product concepts into software specifications and technical solutions.
• Quickly develop proofs of concept, internal applications, portals, dashboards, workflow tools, and production features utilizing AI-assisted development platforms.
• Review, debug, refactor, test, and enhance AI-generated code.
• Create and modify front-end, back-end, database, authentication, business logic, API, and integration components.
• Manage source code in company-approved version control by employing branching, commits, pull requests, code reviews, and release protocols.
• Identify and rectify technical debt, duplicated logic, fragile components, unsupported dependencies, and architectural concerns.
• Export and transition applications from AI-assisted platforms to GitHub or approved production environments.
• Set up staging and production environments, including Linux/server settings, runtime dependencies, databases, storage, domains, DNS, reverse proxies, and application services.
• Configure SSL/TLS certificates and enforce secure connections.
• Implement CI/CD, containerization, infrastructure scripts, logging, monitoring, alerting, backup, rollback, and recovery practices.
• Troubleshoot deployment failures, server errors, performance issues, dependency conflicts, and environment-specific defects.
• Design, create, document, test, and maintain RESTful APIs, webhooks, middleware, background jobs, and integration services.
• Integrate CRM, EMR/EHR, billing, communications, Google Workspace, workflow, analytics, and other enterprise systems.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth, API keys, service accounts, role-based access, and token-based access.
• Create data mappings, transformations, validation rules, retry and rate-limit handling, error management, and reconciliation processes.
• Apply secure coding practices and HIPAA/PHI safeguards, including access controls, audit logging, encryption, and secrets management.
• Conduct code and dependency security reviews and assist with compliance, remediation, and audit-readiness activities.
• Separate development, testing, and production environments while safeguarding PHI from non-approved systems.
• Develop and execute unit, integration, regression, API, security, and end-to-end tests.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), replicate defects, identify root causes, and implement robust fixes.
• Monitor performance, database queries, API latency, page load times, background processes, resource utilization, logs, alerts, and health checks.
• Respond to production incidents, document root causes, and apply preventive measures.
• Maintain runbooks, architecture notes, deployment documentation, support instructions, API documentation, and technical records.
• Assess feasibility, trade-offs, risks, timelines, build-versus-buy decisions, emerging AI tools, frameworks, infrastructure, and integration technologies.
• Collaborate with the Business Systems Analyst, operational teams, vendors, Compliance, IT, leadership, and technical contributors.
• Clearly communicate technical issues, risks, blockers, dependencies, and production readiness in business-friendly language.
• Deliver prototypes, production architecture, integrated staging applications, production releases, rollback documentation, runbooks, maintenance backlogs, incident reports, and continuous improvement roadmaps.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional software development, full-stack development, application development, or comparable hands-on experience.
• Proven ability to build and maintain production web applications using contemporary front-end and back-end technologies.
• Strong working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one back-end language or runtime such as Node.js, Python, PHP, Ruby, Java, C#, or a similar technology.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, data modeling, schema modifications, migrations, and application-level data validation.
• Hands-on experience designing or using REST APIs, webhooks, JSON payloads, authentication workflows, and third-party integrations.
• Proficient with Git/GitHub or similar version-control systems, including branching, code reviews, merge management, and release processes.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud or server environments, including Linux/SSH, DNS, environment configuration, SSL/TLS certificates, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with the capability to audit, refactor, and stabilize AI-generated or rapidly prototyped code.
• Familiarity with application security, access control, secrets management, logging, encryption concepts, and secure handling of sensitive information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with executives, non-technical stakeholders, analysts, vendors, and other technical contributors.
• Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check.
• Preferred: experience in healthcare or PHI-sensitive technology.
• Preferred: familiarity with Lovable, Claude Code, Cursor, Replit, Bolt, or other AI-assisted/vibe-coding environments.
• Preferred: knowledge of Docker, CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, reverse proxies, AWS/Azure/GCP, or modern hosting platforms.
• Preferred: integration experience with EMR/EHR, CRM, billing, communications, workflow, and analytics.
• Preferred: understanding of FHIR, HL7, X12, or healthcare data exchange patterns.
• Preferred: experience with automation platforms like n8n, Zapier, Make, or similar.
• Preferred: knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, vulnerability management, or observability platforms.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field; equivalent professional experience may be accepted.
