This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Design and implement Linux Kernel functionalities for internal applications and as a foundation for Arista EOS.
• Stay updated with advancements in the Linux Kernel and engage with the kernel community to contribute features upstream.
• Create and enhance kernel functionalities in line with required specifications.
• Assess new CPU technologies and collaborate with CPU/BIOS vendors to incorporate their solutions into EOS.
• Initialize and validate CPU/BIOS components within Arista's hardware offerings.
• Introduce new software capabilities, troubleshoot issues, and optimize code for improved scalability and performance.
• Manage projects from their inception to deployment, including customer interactions.
• Guarantee the quality of the software delivered.
• Work collaboratively with the Platform team, closely interfacing with hardware and programming chips.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• Over 5 years of experience with C or C++ and Python.
• Practical experience with Linux Kernel software is advantageous.
• Knowledge of IP networking and/or distributed systems is beneficial.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and software troubleshooting abilities.
• Capability to design solutions and execute them effectively.
