Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, deploy, and sustain applications utilizing Python, Quickbase, and web technologies.

• Create software that supports engineering calculations, analytical models, data processing, and technical workflows.

• Collaborate with engineering staff to modernize spreadsheet-based engineering tools.

• Develop and enhance Quickbase applications, including data models, user interfaces, reports, dashboards, and automated workflows.

• Assist in the modernization and migration of legacy applications and platforms.

• Write, maintain, and enhance business applications and client-facing solutions.

• Diagnose technical issues, resolve defects, and enhance application performance and reliability.

• Address support requests and bug tickets within established service level agreements (SLAs).

• Adhere to best practices for testing, documentation, version control, and security.

• Prepare technical documentation and provide user training as necessary.

• Develop and maintain integrations using APIs and other integration technologies.

• Construct and uphold automated workflows, data pipelines, and scheduled processes.

• Enhance data accessibility, accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

• Implement data access controls and security measures.

• Support the deployment and maintenance of applications and automated processes in cloud environments.

• Identify automation opportunities to minimize manual tasks and boost operational efficiency.

• Discover opportunities for AI-enabled applications and workflow automation.

• Design, test, and implement AI-powered solutions using APIs and large language models.

• Incorporate AI capabilities into applications, business processes, and data workflows.

• Evaluate AI solutions for accuracy, reliability, security, and business value.

• Research and apply innovative AI development tools and techniques.

• Collaborate with the Software Product Manager, internal teams, and external stakeholders to identify needs and design solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Over 3 years of professional experience in software development or application development.

• Proficiency in Python or a similar programming language.

• Experience in developing and maintaining business applications, web applications, or automated workflows.

• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and system integrations.

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and relational databases.

• Experience using Git or similar version control systems.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in Quickbase application development, including Pipelines, custom pages, and third-party integrations.

• Background in developing software solutions for engineering, energy efficiency, building systems, or other technical applications.

• Experience in developing and deploying Python applications within cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.

• Proficiency in designing relational database schemas and writing complex SQL, ideally in PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with Docker, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment practices.

• Experience with AI development, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agent-based workflows.

• Background in developing data pipelines, reports, and business intelligence solutions.

• Acquainted with Agile software development methodologies.

• Experience supporting client-facing applications or business process automation.

• Familiarity with engineering concepts or a background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
