Software Engineer – External Compute, Application Software

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Develop software for fundamental and vehicle-level functionalities.

• Conduct integration and verification testing as instructed by lead engineers and, gradually, with minimal supervision.

• Design, implement, and sustain automated testing frameworks and test harnesses for unit, integration, regression, and system-level testing of vehicle test automation software.

• Execute software analysis, code analysis, requirements assessment, software reviews, identification of code metrics, system risk evaluation, software reliability analysis, and object-oriented analysis and design under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Identify, debug, and resolve issues related to vehicle hardware and software, encompassing test benches and in-vehicle systems.

• Analyze and address automated test failures.

• Monitor defects until they are resolved.

• Operate in accordance with the company's Software Engineering standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

• Two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Automation Engineer, or in a related field.

• Two (2) years of experience with Python, Java, or C++, including object-oriented analysis, design, implementation, and debugging.

• Two (2) years of experience utilizing test automation frameworks and libraries, such as JUnit or TestNG for Java, and pytest for Python.

• Two (2) years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, including automated building, test execution, and reporting, using tools like Jenkins.

• Two (2) years of experience integrating software components across various systems or subsystems, including troubleshooting and debugging.

• Six (6) months of experience with communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, or Ethernet, for interacting with vehicle networks or vehicle test systems.
