Software Architect – Payment Solutions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Define and enhance software architectures for payment platforms, card processing, merchant acquiring, and financial solutions.

• Design high-performance distributed systems capable of handling extensive volumes of financial transactions, ensuring low latency and high availability.

• Create architectural solutions for transaction authorization, capture, processing, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation.

• Guarantee scalability, resilience, fault tolerance, security, and operational continuity for mission-critical systems.

• Establish architectural standards, technologies, frameworks, and best practices in software engineering.

• Design and oversee integrations with card networks, financial institutions, processors, acquirers, and other stakeholders in the payments ecosystem.

• Assess and recommend architectures utilizing microservices, APIs, messaging, asynchronous processing, and event-driven solutions.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and suggest enhancements to processing, stability, and efficiency.

• Engage in technical decisions related to cloud infrastructure, observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery.

• Ensure adherence to information security, data protection, PCI DSS, and relevant regulatory requirements.

• Perform architectural evaluations and technical reviews, assisting development teams.

• Aid in resolving critical incidents and complex transaction-processing challenges.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, and Business teams to ensure alignment of architecture with business strategy.

• Document architectural decisions and contribute to the continuous technological advancement of the platforms.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong experience as a Software Architect or in technical leadership positions within highly complex environments.

• Demonstrated experience in the payments, merchant acquiring, card processing, or technology infrastructure domains of financial institutions.

• Experience with high-volume, low-latency, and high-availability transaction platforms.

• Understanding of financial transaction authorization, processing, and settlement flows.

• Familiarity with distributed architectures, microservices, APIs, and system integration.

• Knowledge of messaging technologies, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with cloud environments, preferably AWS.

• Understanding of security, observability, resilience, and failure-recovery practices.

• Capability to lead architectural decisions and offer technical guidance to engineering teams.

• Experience with card authorization systems and clearing and settlement platforms.

• Knowledge of merchant acquiring, card issuance, and card processing flows.

• Familiarity with financial messaging protocols and standards, particularly ISO 8583 and ISO 20022.
