Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Evaluate the existing software and cloud architecture to pinpoint areas for enhancement, modernization, streamlining, and reduction of technical debt.

• Establish and lead architectural decisions and technical roadmaps that align with business and engineering priorities.

• Offer hands-on technical leadership across application architecture, cloud infrastructure, integrations, DevOps methodologies, and production reliability.

• Collaborate closely with development, QA, infrastructure, and client teams within an Agile work environment.

• Conduct independent investigations into complex technical and production challenges, identifying root causes and recommending both immediate and long-term solutions.

• Recognize architectural risks, configuration drift, outdated components, scalability issues, security vulnerabilities, and other technical concerns that require attention.

• Assess current and emerging technologies, providing practical strategies for modernization.

• Provide architectural direction for cloud-native, containerized, Kubernetes, and serverless solutions.

• Review practices related to Infrastructure-as-Code, CI/CD, deployment, and environment management.

• Offer architectural guidance for APIs, third-party integrations, asynchronous processes, file-processing workflows, and various integration patterns.

• Establish and advocate for software architecture and engineering standards across teams and repositories.

• Work directly with client technical leadership to understand their needs, communicate insights, and suggest solutions.

• Articulate technical challenges, architectural decisions, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Evaluate the business and operational impacts of technical decisions.

• Mentor and coach engineers on architecture, design patterns, development practices, and technical problem-solving.

• Proactively identify and take ownership of technical initiatives.

• Balance the quality of long-term architecture with the practical needs of delivery while managing technical debt.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record in software architecture or technical leadership roles.

• Strong hands-on expertise in .NET / C# and contemporary backend architectures.

• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based architectures.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes / AKS, Docker, and containerized applications.

• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform.

• Knowledge of Azure Functions, Azure Container Apps, serverless architectures, or similar cloud-native technologies.

• Strong grasp of CI/CD and modern DevOps practices.

• Comprehensive understanding of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Experience in designing and troubleshooting distributed systems, REST APIs, third-party integrations, and asynchronous/background processes.

• Solid understanding of networking, cloud security, secrets management, and environment configuration.

• Experience in production troubleshooting, logging, monitoring, observability, performance, and system reliability.

• Ability to analyze and comprehend existing applications, repositories, infrastructure, and architecture with limited available documentation.

• Comfort in transitioning between high-level architectural discussions and hands-on technical investigations.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.

• Experience in defining technical roadmaps and translating architectural recommendations into actionable engineering initiatives.

• Experience working directly with clients and senior technical stakeholders.

• Background in banking, lending, fintech, or another regulated industry is highly desirable.
