Software Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain high-volume business logic operating on the mainframe.

• Refactor outdated code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to connect with mainframe core data.

• Oversee architecture and pinpoint opportunities to enhance code and maintain or improve mainframe performance.

• Debug, troubleshoot, and analyze intricate system interactions.

• Extract business logic from legacy systems for migration or integration with cloud-based services.

• Collaborate with a global network of mainframe modernization specialists and exchange knowledge.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a software engineer on intricate software projects.

• Exceptional coding abilities and substantial development experience in Java, Python, .Net, or similar languages.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.

• Documented experience in creating scalable and robust software using established software development methodologies.

• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases, data mapping, XML/JSON, and RESTful web services.

• Understanding of architectural design, including microservices architecture, Docker, Kubernetes, and messaging queues.

• In-depth knowledge of OOP and design patterns.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).

• Certification in one or more hyperscalers: Azure, AWS, or Google GCP (preferred; certifications can be pursued through Kyndryl).

• Experience with DevOps tools and contemporary engineering practices (preferred).
