Software & AI Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems utilizing Python and Node.js for AI orchestration and data workflows.

• Transition models and agents into production environments.

• Create and version prompts, implement safety measures and evaluations, establish tracing and observability, and enhance latency and cost efficiency.

• Construct reliable data pipelines for retrieval, embeddings, and evaluation workflows.

• Design and implement React applications in TypeScript, employing modern state management techniques.

• Manage services on Kubernetes, encompassing containerization, Helm, CI/CD, autoscaling, secrets management, and monitoring.

• Engage in on-call responsibilities as needed.

• Make and document architectural choices, weighing trade-offs related to performance, cost, reliability, and maintainability.

• Elevate engineering standards through code reviews, testing, performance profiling, documentation, and mentorship.

• Work collaboratively with product, QA, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable and measurable features.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional software engineering experience, with products developed and maintained in production settings.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

• Proficient understanding of data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.

• Familiarity with operating system and networking fundamentals: processes, threads, memory, I/O, HTTP, TCP/IP, and DNS.

• Strong skills in system design for scalable, fault-tolerant, and maintainable architectures.

• Ability to write clean, well-structured code adhering to SOLID principles, with effective design patterns and sensible abstractions.

• Experience in API design using REST, GraphQL, or gRPC, including contract management, versioning, and backward compatibility.

• Understanding of database fundamentals such as data modeling, normalization, indexing, transactions, isolation levels, query optimization, and migrations.

• Strong commitment to testing, covering unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Excellent debugging and performance optimization skills, including profiling, identifying bottlenecks, and resolving memory, latency, and scaling issues.

• Proficiency in Python as a primary production language, with experience in type hints and tools like mypy or pyright.

• Knowledge of asynchronous programming with asyncio, and understanding when to utilize threads, processes, or async operations.

• Experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks, and Pydantic for data validation.

• Practical experience in applied AI and LLM engineering.

• Hands-on experience with production Kubernetes, including Helm or Kustomize, Horizontal Pod Autoscaler, Ingress, basic service mesh concepts, and Prometheus/Grafana for logging and metrics.

• Proficiency in CI/CD using GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, along with strong Docker practices.
