This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete technical architecture for brightfin's product suite and standalone SaaS offerings.
• Establish engineering benchmarks for quality, scalability, and reliability.
• Formulate brightfin's AI strategy and roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on measurable customer or business outcomes.
• Design and develop AI-native capabilities, including embedded agentic features.
• Oversee model selection, orchestration, prompt and agent architecture, and AI evaluation pipelines.
• Create and manage the AI-driven development lifecycle along with engineering tools.
• Manage AI infrastructure, model and vendor evaluations, data handling, access management, guardrails, and integration standards.
• Collaborate with People & Culture and the AI Champions network to ensure security-first AI systems.
• Prototype, deploy, and validate architecture and AI initiatives as a sole contributor in the first year.
• Make a compelling case for and recruit a team once initiatives are prepared for scaling.
• Collaborate with the Chief Product & AI Officer and the executive team on architectural and AI investment decisions.
• Communicate initiatives using clear metrics and honest status updates.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering or architecture, with direct hands-on experience in designing and deploying production systems at scale.
• 3+ years of experience leading or participating in teams within AI-native organizations.
• Extensive experience with LLMs, RAG, agentic-native system design, and multi-agent architectures.
• Practical software architecture experience in owning and evolving a production platform.
• Practical AI architecture experience in designing and operating LLM-based tools, agentic workflows, and AI-native product capabilities in production.
• Direct experience working within the ServiceNow ecosystem; ideally, architecting ServiceNow applications directly.
• Ability to initiate a system, initiative, or function without an existing team or playbook.
• Comfortable working as an individual contributor and subsequently hiring and leading a team.
• Strong engineering fluency, including code writing and review, as well as understanding architectural trade-offs.
• Familiarity with security, data governance, and enterprise, federal, and international platform guardrails.
• Excellent technical communication skills suitable for executive-level discussions.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Candidates will undergo a background check.
