Social Media Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Transform intricate subjects concerning digital violence and disinformation into straightforward, accessible content.

• Create innovative concepts and content tailored to the audience.

• Develop new formats, draft claims and hooks, and assist in producing short-form videos (Reels & Shorts).

• Prepare design briefs for various projects.

• Collaborate with the editorial team to establish a continuous editorial calendar.

• Identify trends, formats, and pertinent communication opportunities, integrating them into editorial tasks.

• Oversee partnerships with influencers, creators, and other collaborators.

• Conceptualize and produce joint content, posts, and collaborative efforts.

• Enhance social media communications across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Mastodon, Bluesky, Threads, TikTok, and YouTube.

• Adjust campaign and petition content for various social media channels.

• Design and create impactful formats and content to advocate for political demands.

• Assist in community management, moderate discussions, and offer guidance.

• Track mentions on external channels and respond according to community guidelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–3 years of professional experience in a role such as Social Media Manager, Social Media Editor, or a similar position.

• Experience in political communications and/or journalism-oriented online media is advantageous.

• Must reside and ordinarily live in Germany.

• Fluent in both written and spoken German.

• Ideally, fluent in written and spoken English.

• Familiarity with a variety of digital tools for organization and communication.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Strong political awareness and a dedication to fighting against digital violence.

• Willingness to pursue professional development, shift perspectives, and engage in ongoing learning.

• A completed degree in communications, journalism, political science, or law, or equivalent training, is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Relevant employment references and a compelling résumé/CV without a photograph.
