Social Media Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Digital & Social team with content creation and social engagement requirements

• Conceptualize and produce promotional materials for TransLash’s social media channels

• Create captivating content for platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, and others

• Gather, schedule, and share timely as well as evergreen social media content

• Craft social media copy and design accessible graphics under the guidance of the Social Media Manager

• Foster relationships with key partners through collaborative posts, responses, and direct messages

• Maintain a roster of partner accounts for amplification in coordination with the Community Manager

• Monitor comments, replies, and direct messages, providing prompt, brand-consistent responses

• Collaborate across teams to enhance social promotion and outreach for Podcasts, Films, and Articles

• Participate in planning meetings to brainstorm and suggest innovative social content ideas

• Act as an ambassador for the organization with partners and audiences

• Occasionally travel to cover live events

• Report directly to the Social Media Manager

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in supporting and generating content for daily social media accounts for an agency, news outlet, or community organization, or for a fast-paced media brand that engages on social media daily

• Demonstrated experience in content creation for or interaction with trans communities, whether through media, community involvement, or customer-facing roles

• Excellent copywriting skills across various platforms

• Proficiency in social media tools and platforms such as Canva, Later, Sprout, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Bluesky

• Regularly consume news and social content related to and produced by trans and gender non-conforming communities

• Ability to leverage social media trends and analytics reports to craft engaging posts

• Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational capabilities

• Experience in proactively managing multiple projects from initiation to execution and reporting

• Capacity to work independently and eagerness to learn and acquire new skills

• Flexibility to adapt to changing workflows and processes

• Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives

• Self-motivated, strong work ethic, and commitment to the TransLash mission

• Willingness and availability to occasionally travel to cover live events

• Availability during core local business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and some evenings and weekends as required

• Capability to lift 15 pounds at a time

• Submission of relevant work samples: one to three examples each of social media graphics and social media captions or copy
