SOC Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the 24x7x365 Security Operations Center's performance and act as the escalation authority.

• Oversee detection and response key performance indicators (MTTD/MTTR) while driving initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Lead a structured tier of analysts, combining human expertise with AI-driven capabilities.

• Provide regular updates on threat intelligence and SOC performance to program and client leadership.

• Develop and adapt the strategy for the SIEM/SOAR platform and prioritize use-case development.

• Manage SOC staffing, scheduling, training, and quality assurance initiatives.

• Coordinate incident response for major security events and perform post-incident evaluations.

• Ensure that SOC processes and playbooks are kept up-to-date with the latest threats and technologies.

• Collaborate with threat intelligence, vulnerability management, and engineering teams to improve detection capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a SOC.

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline (equivalent experience will be considered).

• Extensive knowledge of SIEM/SOAR platforms, incident response methodologies, and detection engineering.

• Demonstrated experience in leading and nurturing large technical teams in a 24x7 operational setting.

• Certification in CISSP, CISM, or as a GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA) is required.

• GCIH certification is preferred.

• Must possess a Secret clearance level.
