Snowflake Administrator/DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and manage Snowflake databases, schemas, roles, warehouses, and access controls for Knowledge Domains.

• Automate the provisioning, configuration, and promotion processes using Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD methodologies.

• Implement naming conventions, security protocols, governance, tagging, and lifecycle management standards.

• Offer expert support, troubleshooting, and advice on Snowflake functionalities.

• Enhance monitoring, performance, reliability, and cost transparency.

• Provide reusable target structures and naming conventions for Knowledge Domains.

• Develop automated provisioning templates and Terraform modules.

• Set up CI/CD pipelines that include validation, approval, deployment, and rollback mechanisms.

• Create role-based access-control matrices and governance policies.

• Establish monitoring and alert systems for usage, failures, performance, security, and credit utilization.

• Produce operational runbooks for onboarding, deployment, support, incident management, and recovery.

• Maintain a backlog of Snowflake feature-support requests, address technical inquiries, and generate knowledge-base articles.

• Create technical handover documents and facilitate knowledge-transfer sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Snowflake administration, data platform management, or DevOps engineering.

• Strong proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, RBAC, and experience with performance and cost management.

• Practical skills in Terraform, Git, and CI/CD automation.

• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is a plus.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, observability, security measures, and production support.

• Ability to communicate clearly in professional English and produce concise documentation.

• Experience in cross-team collaboration and the capability to work independently.

• A graduate or post-graduate degree is required.
