DevOps Engineer II – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Take charge of and enhance infrastructure-as-code for the provisioning of cloud services and environments.

• Oversee and optimize CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, and deployment workflows.

• Deploy observability tools, automate failure detection processes, and minimize alert fatigue.

• Work alongside platform, product, and data teams to scale services and alleviate latency or bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with IT and network teams on system hardening, identity and access management, and secure provisioning.

• Assist in developing disaster recovery plans, responding to security incidents, and improving internal system reliability.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools for infrastructure as code, scripting, and creating runbooks.

• Create AI-driven workflows, including incident triage, automated pull request and infrastructure as code reviews, and ChatOps.

• Implement AIOps and LLM-based techniques for observability, covering alert correlation, incident summaries, and root-cause analysis.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS, and container technologies like Docker.

• Strong background in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.

• Practical experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Comprehensive understanding of Linux/UNIX systems, networking concepts, and security best practices, particularly IAM and security groups.

• Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.

• Capacity to work cross-functionally, manage trade-offs, and drive tangible improvements in system health and engineering velocity.

• Hands-on experience with AI developer tools, including coding assistants and LLM-based command line interfaces, for writing, reviewing, and debugging infrastructure code and pipelines.

• Ability to validate AI-generated outputs.

• Awareness of safe AI operations, encompassing prompt and context hygiene, safeguarding secrets and personally identifiable information (PII), and verifying AI-generated modifications through reviews and security gates.
