SIU Field Investigator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Carry out investigations into suspected fraudulent activities or other unlawful actions against GEICO.

• Conduct interviews, perform database searches, and gather statements.

• Identify sources of information and potential witnesses.

• Assess information to evaluate its credibility.

• Refer and manage investigation assignments with external agencies.

• Provide training and assistance to departments involved in claims processing.

• Undertake duties primarily in the field, at auto repair shops, or business locations with minimal supervision.

• Utilize personal protective equipment as required.

• Operate assigned vehicles and perform tasks within an automobile serving as a mobile workstation.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.

• Minimum of 3 years of claims adjusting experience, or experience in P&C SIU/Fraud Investigation, or 4 years of prior law enforcement investigative experience (including military) or pertinent fraud industry investigation experience.

• Experience in obtaining in-person or telephone statements from various parties involved in investigations.

• Capability to collect a wide range of evidence and draw conclusions from the gathered information.

• Proficiency in organizing and prioritizing a high volume of claims and managing stressful situations.

• Professional demeanor and appearance.

• Ability to document files in a clear, concise, and professional written format.

• Must be able to acquire and keep a valid driver’s license, certifications, and permits in compliance with regulations and company standards.

• Capability to lift and transport materials and equipment to and from vehicles, and up and down stairs.

• Ability to maneuver around, in, on, and under vehicles, including RVs and commercial vehicles.

• Must exercise caution and maintain awareness of surroundings.

• Ability to absorb and apply significant amounts of technical and procedural information.

• Knowledge of municipal, state, and local regulations, legal concepts, case law, medical treatments, and medical terminology.

• Required to use personal protective equipment as needed.

• Willingness to work indoors and outdoors, under varying weather conditions, in dim or bright lighting, adverse weather, and noise environments.

• Must maintain an acceptable driving record and valid state driver's license.

• Ability to operate an assigned vehicle for extended durations.

• Proficient in using laptops, Microsoft Office, web-based applications, cameras, hands-free cellular devices, and calculators.

• Capable of performing tasks in an automobile functioning as a mobile workstation.
