SIU Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Provide assistance and support to the SIU team with their daily responsibilities

• Aid in the intake and prioritization of tasks assigned by clients

• Assist in the examination of patient medical records for investigations related to fraud, waste, and abuse

• Help compare medical records with claim information to identify billable services

• Record findings for each claim line in a spreadsheet

• Contribute to the preparation of written reports summarizing the findings

• Help abstract CPT, HCPCS, Revenue Codes, DRG codes, and ICD-9/ICD-10 from medical records

• Support the upkeep of current knowledge regarding coding guidelines and regulations

• Assist in analyzing client data

• Provide basic support for various aspects of fraud, waste, and abuse investigations

• Adhere to and follow company Privacy and Security standards

• Safeguard and protect confidential and sensitive information, including protected health information

• Carry out additional duties as assigned

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of medical terminology

• Basic familiarity with coding concepts, including CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10

• Basic knowledge of specialized medical practices

• Strong attention to detail

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing

• Good listening abilities

• Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

• Responsible and self-disciplined approach

• Ability to achieve defined performance and production targets

• Basic computer proficiency

• Discretion and secure management of information when handling confidential and sensitive data, including protected health information

• No specific investigative experience necessary; however, healthcare knowledge and a keen interest in medical claims, coding, and investigations are beneficial

• High-speed internet access with a minimum of 25mbs download and 5mbs upload; satellite internet is not permitted
