Payment Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Assume diagnostic responsibility for the health of the checkout funnel and proactively identify alerts, insights, and defects before they escalate to critical business issues.

• Oversee root-cause analysis to differentiate between engineering flaws and user behavior trends.

• Clearly convey the results of investigations to pertinent stakeholders.

• Assist in reporting to cross-functional teams and convert data into actionable insights that enhance authorization rates and conversion.

• Examine authorization rates, decline codes, and multi-PSP performance to pinpoint significant bottlenecks in the funnel.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Fraud teams regarding funnel concerns and processor outages.

• Establish yourself as a reliable point of contact for payment funnel health within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in payments funnel concepts: interchange, decline codes, FX, tokenization, 3DS, and fundamentals of fraud.

• Proven experience in root-cause analysis related to funnel drop-off or decline patterns, distinguishing between technical and behavioral reasons.

• Capability to interpret complex data and customer behavior insights for audiences lacking deep technical or domain knowledge.

• Familiarity with self-service BI/dashboard tools is a plus.

• SQL proficiency for conducting independent investigations is a plus.

• Experience in navigating ambiguity within a fast-paced or rapidly growing environment is a plus.

• Background in multi-PSP comparative analysis is a plus.

• Good command of English is required; proficiency is preferred.

• Candidates with experience levels ranging from individual contributors to functional leaders will be considered.
