Site Safety Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Develop Site-Specific Safety Plans and Activity Hazard Analyses for designated Business Unit projects

• Ensure adherence to safety policies and established standards

• Verify that PPE complies with relevant OSHA/EPA guidelines and that employees are trained in its proper use

• Carry out safety audits, inspections, and follow-up evaluations at designated project sites

• Provide safety training to all personnel involved in the project

• Assess subcontractor safety qualifications and participate in pre-construction meetings

• Create and review activity hazard assessments

• Conduct regulatory compliance activities and investigate accidents/incidents

• Design and implement corrective action strategies

• Collaborate with project supervision to devise safety solutions

• Cultivate and uphold a positive safety culture within the project

• Maintain necessary safety certifications

• Facilitate quarterly safety meetings for project staff

• Generate safety activity reports

• Lead investigations into incidents and accidents

• Carry out other assigned duties as necessary

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health Engineering or a related field

• At least 5 years of safety experience in the construction industry on comparable projects

• Capability to effectively communicate safety matters within a project team

• Current EM385 1-1 certification

• A minimum of 24 hours of formal safety training each year for the last 5 years

• Training for competent person status in excavation, scaffolding, fall protection, hazardous energy, confined space, and recognizing, evaluating, and controlling health hazards associated with chemical, physical, and biological agents

• Certification as a Construction Health and Safety Technician

• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification

• NFPA 70E certification for electrical safety training

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other essential computer skills

• Organized, proactive, and demonstrated experience in OSHA and EM385 compliance

• Current First Aid & CPR Certification

• Effective verbal and written communication skills

• Strong writing skills with correct grammar

• Willingness to travel frequently, if necessary

• Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner
