Mechanical Construction Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Carry out mechanical erection tasks for rotating machinery, including pumps, blowers, fans, compressors, and control valves.

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, and alignment of pumps and other mechanical systems.

• Collaborate with the Construction Lead, mechanical commissioning engineers, Site Manager, supervisors, subcontractors, clients, and other discipline foremen.

• Lead the mechanical construction team and supervisors to meet project objectives.

• Review assembly documentation, O&M manuals, I&T plans, and I&T programs.

• Oversee, assist, mentor, schedule, and deploy mechanical personnel effectively.

• Enforce EHS regulations, directives, work permits, and site safety protocols.

• Carry out erection and maintenance of turbine hall pumps, blowers, compressors, fans, and control valves.

• Execute shaft and rotor alignment while maintaining records in accordance with ITPL standards.

• Conduct walkdowns, visual inspections, commissioning support, equipment inspections, and troubleshooting during commissioning or synchronization phases.

• Verify tool availability and request necessary equipment, materials, and consumables.

• Keep accurate records, action lists, files, timesheets, inventories, work orders, manuals, and erection documentation.

• Monitor materials and equipment usage to reduce waste and prevent damage.

• Identify and report non-conformities and tasks beyond scope through NCRs.

• Interpret drawings and formulate work sequences; verify turbine alignment and other parameters.

• Ensure quality execution and adherence to field assembly, commissioning, statutory, safety, and QA/QC requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• 10-12 years of comprehensive experience acquired throughout professional career.

• 3 to 4 years of experience in executing FGD / Power projects for power plants.

• Management experience with a medium-sized, multicultural technical team (preferred).

• Experience in M & E Erection & Commissioning (preferred).

• Proficient in reading and understanding specifications, drawings, and project and engineering documentation.

• Knowledge of the power plant KKS system is an additional asset.

• Experience with lifting and rigging operations.

• Familiarity with Company Safety and QA/QC protocols.

• Capability to use and instruct team members on accurate measurement tools.

• Experience in mechanical erection, maintenance, alignment, overhauling, repair, and troubleshooting.

• Strong communication, organizational, delegation, leadership, and team-building skills.
