Site Reliability Engineer – SRE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Oversee and ensure the reliability and accessibility of essential database systems for the business.

• Provide support for databases that handle terabytes of data, guaranteeing stable performance in production settings.

• Execute and support database version upgrades, patching, and maintenance tasks.

• Strategically plan and implement data migrations with a keen emphasis on availability, integrity, and risk management.

• Investigate production-related issues, performance declines, and reliability challenges.

• Establish and enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability for databases and their supporting infrastructure.

• Automate operational and infrastructure processes wherever suitable.

• Collaborate with infrastructure and database teams to boost resilience, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Engage in root cause analysis and provide contributions to preventive strategies following incidents.

• Maintain and refine operational procedures, runbooks, and reliability methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Database Operations.

• Solid understanding of database management and concepts related to database reliability.

• Experience in supporting large-scale or business-critical production systems.

• Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools.

• Familiarity with performance monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, and incident management processes.

• Experience in data migrations and/or database upgrades.

• Proficient knowledge of Linux and troubleshooting infrastructure issues.

• Capability to work autonomously and take responsibility for topics related to production reliability.

• Familiarity with AWS.

• Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure-as-Code tools.

• Background in enterprise monitoring and observability platforms.

• Previous experience with Oracle Databases.

• Experience managing databases at the terabyte level.

• Background in Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) environments.

• Experience supporting systems within the financial services sector or other highly regulated industries.
