This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and document a scalable, multi-tenant system architecture that supports over 10 USDA agencies.
• Ensure that the architecture is compliant with cloud.gov hosting guidelines and federal data standards.
• Create and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
• Implement and uphold Zero Trust Architecture in accordance with NIST SP 800-207.
• Ensure data is encrypted both at rest and in transit, utilizing FIPS 140-2 validated solutions.
• Manage deployment scripts and infrastructure configuration as the system evolves over time.
• Provide support for API design to facilitate integration with USDA mission systems.
• Conduct vulnerability scanning and assist with security assessments and penetration testing.
• Ensure that systems achieve a 99.99% availability requirement during business hours.
• Maintain an inventory of devices and media that store sensitive government information.
• Ensure all software components are current and not at end-of-life status.
• Support Koniag Technology Solutions and its federal government client on a business and IT modernization initiative.
• Capability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 8 years of cumulative experience in systems architecture and DevOps or infrastructure engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience focused on federal government systems.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing cloud-native architectures on platforms like cloud.gov, AWS GovCloud, or Azure Government.
• Practical experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for federal software systems.
• Experience in implementing Zero Trust Architecture and supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience in designing cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure-as-code methodologies.
• Knowledge of FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and Zero Trust principles.
• Familiarity with cloud.gov or similar government cloud platforms.
• Experience with API design and integration patterns.
• DevSecOps experience, including tools such as OWASP ZAP, Snyk, or similar security solutions.
