This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Execute scheduled quarterly tasks, which include platform optimization, self-service tooling, and platform rearchitecture.

• Extend Tyk Cloud's reach across various regions and cloud environments while minimizing operational expenses.

• Automate operational processes in Go, which involves creating and maintaining custom Kubernetes operators.

• Manage platform services and databases, such as MongoDB and Redis.

• Enhance observability by pinpointing critical metrics and developing dashboards and alerts.

• Keep runbooks and documentation up to date.

• Assist with security initiatives, including SOC 2 audits.

• Engage in an on-call rotation, initially one week out of three and subsequently one week out of four, from Monday to Friday, between 12 PM and 12 AM UTC.

• Address platform alerts and incidents, restore services, escalate or rectify product bugs, and lead post-incident evaluations.

• Serve as second-line support for Customer Success inquiries from clients.

• Manage ad hoc Tyk Cloud requests from various teams within the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in SRE, platform, or infrastructure roles across multiple companies or production environments.

• Proven ability to take ownership of on-call duties and lead incidents autonomously.

• Practical experience in running production Kubernetes at scale, preferably EKS, including the operation, upgrading, and troubleshooting of large, multi-tenant clusters.

• Experience in designing and managing infrastructure on AWS, using Terraform or a similar tool.

• Proficient in writing, testing, and deploying Go tooling or services.

• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and various logging systems.

• Strong understanding of Linux and networking principles, including DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, and load balancing.

• Excellent communication skills across different time zones and teams.
