Site Quality Technician – Gas Power Generation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Facilitate the efficient execution of the Quality Program at the project level as an impartial Quality representative, distinct from production objectives.

• Advocate for a collaborative approach to ensure that the requirements of the Inspection and Testing Plan, project drawings, plans, and manufacturer specifications are met.

• Work alongside the Quality Department to create and enforce site-specific Inspection and Testing Plans.

• Oversee, train, and schedule Quality Control Inspectors as well as relevant third-party inspectors and testers.

• Provide guidance on effective communication and engagement strategies.

• Monitor and track inspection and testing activities, and collect, manage, and present Quality metrics.

• Conduct inspections, tests, and observations as outlined in the Inspection and Testing Plan.

• Exercise Stop Work Authority for noncompliant operations and empower project resources to do likewise.

• Assist the Project Team in identifying Quality Assurance opportunities and establishing technical verification standards.

• Serve as a liaison with the Owner/Developer regarding any quality-related issues or concerns.

• Schedule and coordinate walkdowns and inspection activities with the Project Team and Owners/Developers.

• Monitor punch-list corrective actions and provide status updates.

• Manage the Nonconformance Process, ensuring prompt resolution of nonconformance reports, and promote effective utilization of these reports.

• Contribute to root cause analysis and recommendations for preventive actions.

• Support the development of Standard Inspection and Test Instructions.

• Engage in or promote continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives, such as Kaizen events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Two-year related degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Minimum of two years' experience in Quality Control processes and procedures; supervisory experience is preferred.

• Ability to meet our MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) standards, with a clean driving history and the capability to operate company-owned vehicles or UTVs.

• Proficient in reading and comprehending contract exhibits, engineering plans, and specifications.

• Possess strong analytical skills, organizational abilities, and a keen attention to detail.

• Establish strong and transparent relationships with Trade Superintendents, Forepersons, and the Project Team.

• Communicate clearly and persuasively in both positive and challenging situations.

• Listen actively to understand and seek clarification before making decisions.

• Skillfully gather relevant information to identify and resolve issues promptly.

• Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving Techniques is essential.

• Enforce company policies, compliance measures, and instructions effectively.

• Seek opportunities to enhance and advocate for quality within the project, demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness.

• Have a basic understanding of mechanical equipment functions, AC/DC principles, cable terminations, and inspection/testing tools.

• Emphasize teamwork and collaborative problem-solving.

• Proficient in computer applications (MS Office).
