This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nebraska, +1 more state.
• Conduct initial and ongoing interviews with claimants.
• Obtain and evaluate medical records.
• Make prompt and ethical determinations for Short Term Disability claims.
• Communicate with claimants, employers, and medical professionals via phone and email to collect claim information.
• Collaborate with case managers, nurse case managers, and consulting physicians.
• Review intricate medical records to ascertain approval durations and future action plans.
• Perform accurate financial calculations in accordance with company and state guidelines.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while proactively identifying customer needs and opportunities.
• Complete comprehensive training to enhance skills for the role.
• High School diploma or GED.
• 1-2 years of experience in claims, leaves, or customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the capability to multitask.
• Experience in disability and/or absence management is preferred.
• Strong mathematical skills for payment calculations are preferred.
• Must reside outside of a commutable distance to an office location for the remote arrangement.
