This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Conduct thorough investigations and verify the facts related to losses for advanced home insurance claims and significant losses.
• Assess coverage and damages associated with claims.
• Adjust and negotiate claims within the limits of discretionary authority.
• Foster relationships with both internal and external customers across various lines of insurance.
• Evaluate settlement alternatives by ensuring compliance with regulations and adherence to fair practices.
• Make informed decisions regarding the optimal settlement options.
• Negotiate complex settlements and manage the processing of related payments.
• Document all actions and activities in the claim file meticulously.
• Create and review damage estimates for intricate first-party home insurance claims.
• This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.
• A valid AMF licence is mandatory.
• A Certificate of College Studies (AEC) in property and casualty insurance is considered an asset.
• A minimum of 5 years of field experience is required.
• Experience in managing major-loss files is essential.
• A comprehensive understanding of the wording and content of all policy types issued by the company is necessary.
• A solid grasp of basic estimating principles is required.
• Proficient English-language skills are necessary for effective communication with customers, advisors, or employees across Canada, unless specified otherwise.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a substitute for the educational requirements.
