This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Lead and cultivate the settlement negotiators and support team through recruitment, onboarding, training, performance evaluation, individual meetings, file assessments, coaching, and development strategies.
• Take ownership of departmental KPIs including settlement volume, average settlement value, policy-limits capture rate, net client recovery, pre-suit stage duration, aged-file exposure, demand turnaround, and negotiator productivity.
• Establish performance benchmarks based on jurisdiction, case type, treatment approach, coverage, and liability profile.
• Analyze pipeline and performance metrics, identify shifts in performance, and implement corrective measures.
• Communicate department performance, forecasts, and risks to firm leadership.
• Oversee aged and stalled inventory.
• Serve as the final internal authority on case valuation and settlement strategies within designated approval limits.
• Review and authorize demand packages, settlement authority requests, and counteroffers.
• Apply and instruct on valuation methodologies across various injury types, including soft tissue, injections, surgical interventions, and traumatic brain injuries.
• Recognize bad faith setups, policy-limits opportunities, UM/UIM exposure, and coverage challenges.
• Personally manage or co-manage high-exposure and sensitive negotiations.
• Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures, checklists, templates, and case-stage definitions.
• Collaborate with medical management on treatment oversight, record and billing completeness, reductions, and lien resolution.
• Coordinate with intake, case management, and litigation teams for seamless transitions and feedback on case quality.
• Ensure that negotiated resolutions are documented, compliant, client-approved, and distributed accurately and promptly.
• Implement and assess technology, reporting, and workflow enhancements.
• Establish standards for client settlement counseling and communication.
• Address escalated client issues and refine processes based on feedback.
• Three to five years of progressive experience in personal injury, with significant time spent in pre-suit settlement and negotiation.
• Three or more years of direct management experience with settlements, pre-litigation, or case management teams.
• Proven experience in managing metrics, setting performance standards, monitoring performance, coaching underperformers, and ensuring accountability.
• Strong understanding of case valuation, including medical expenses, treatment trajectory, procedure-level valuation, comparative fault, coverage layers, and venue analysis.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with Florida personal injury law, including PIP, the statutory pre-suit framework, and relevant damages and fee regulations.
• Comfortable utilizing a case management system, generating reports, and working with spreadsheets.
• Access to reliable internet, a computer, and a quiet, professional workspace.
