This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina, +1 more country.
• Oversee and cultivate the settlement negotiators and support team.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and manage team performance.
• Conduct structured one-on-one meetings, file assessments, and coaching sessions.
• Develop individual growth plans for team members.
• Collaborate with Human Resources to address performance and conduct challenges.
• Take ownership of departmental KPIs, which include settlement volume, average settlement value, policy-limits capture rate, net client recovery, stage times, aged-file exposure, demand turnaround, and productivity.
• Establish performance benchmarks based on jurisdiction, case type, treatment approach, coverage, and liability profile.
• Analyze pipeline and performance data to identify operational issues.
• Report on departmental performance, forecasts, and risks to firm leadership.
• Manage aged and stalled inventory effectively.
• Act as the final internal authority on case valuation and settlement strategy within approval limits.
• Review and authorize demand packages, settlement authority requests, and counteroffers.
• Apply and teach valuation methodologies across various injury types, such as soft tissue, injections, surgery, and traumatic brain injury.
• Identify bad faith setups, policy-limits opportunities, UM/UIM exposure, and coverage issues.
• Personally manage or co-manage high-exposure and sensitive negotiations.
• Maintain and enhance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, templates, and case-stage definitions.
• Collaborate with medical management on treatment monitoring, records, billing, reductions, and lien resolution.
• Coordinate with intake, case management, and litigation teams for seamless handoffs.
• Ensure that negotiated resolutions are documented, compliant, client-approved, and disbursed accurately and promptly.
• Implement and evaluate technology, reporting, and workflow enhancements.
• Establish standards for client settlement counseling and communication.
• Ensure communication occurs in clients' preferred language.
• Address escalated client concerns and refine processes based on feedback.
• A minimum of three to five years of progressive experience in personal injury, with significant time spent in pre-suit settlement and negotiation.
• At least three years of direct management experience in settlements, pre-litigation, or case management teams.
• Proven track record of taking responsibility for the results of others.
• Demonstrated experience managing by metrics, including setting standards, tracking performance, coaching underperformers, and holding individuals accountable.
• Strong understanding of case valuation, encompassing medical specials, treatment trajectory, procedure-level valuation, comparative fault, coverage layers, and venue analysis.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with Florida personal injury practices, including PIP, the statutory pre-suit framework, and relevant damages and fee regulations.
• Comfort with case management systems, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Ability to create or interpret pipeline reports and derive insights from data.
