ServiceNow Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create and develop tailored ServiceNow applications using App Engine Studio and/or conventional scoped application development techniques.

• Construct solutions that exceed standard functionalities, incorporating custom modules, data models, platform extensions, and Service Portal widgets.

• Duplicate, enhance, and modify existing ServiceNow modules to meet specific customer needs.

• Design workflows, automate processes, and integrate with external systems.

• Write, test, and troubleshoot ServiceNow scripts.

• Develop unique UI components.

• Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and in accordance with ServiceNow best practices.

• Collect and analyze requirements, translating them into technical solutions.

• Investigate and adapt ServiceNow platform functionalities as necessary.

• Collaborate with developers and team members in an Agile/DevSecOps framework.

• Work independently on development tasks and fulfill assigned work items.

• Maintain and apply knowledge of ServiceNow data structures.

• Configure and use MID Server for integrations and data transfer.

• Implement RBAC and platform security settings.

• Comply with security and regulatory requirements.

• Set up and configure new instances for applications or migrations.

• Operate with ownership and independence in a fully remote setting.

• Actively advance work and seek additional responsibilities.

• Maintain consistent communication and availability during business hours.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 years of experience with a BS/BA; 3 years with an MS/MA; no experience with a PhD; or 9 years with a high school diploma.

• Proven experience in developing workflows, automation, and integrations with external systems, including REST/SOAP APIs and third-party platforms.

• Experience in writing, testing, and debugging ServiceNow scripts, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Flow Designer, and Fix Scripts.

• Background in developing custom UI components, such as UI Pages, UI Actions, and Service Portal elements.

• Experience with customizing a Service Portal.

• Familiarity with custom ServiceNow application development using App Engine Studio and/or traditional scoped application development.

• Experience with custom modules, data models, platform extensions, and Service Portal widgets.

• Knowledge of ServiceNow data structures, including tables, dictionary, relationships, and CMDB.

• Experience configuring and utilizing MID Server for integrations and data movement.

• Experience implementing role-based access controls and platform security configurations.

• Understanding of security and compliance standards such as FedRAMP, DoD, and STIG.

• Capability to establish and configure a new ServiceNow instance or assist with application migration.

• Experience tracing data points to respective tables in a domain-separated environment.

• Clearance is not required to begin, but a Secret clearance will be necessary in the future.
