This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Collaborate with restaurant and hospitality managers to provide comprehensive service solutions for commercial cooking, refrigeration, ware-washing, and specialty foodservice equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment in commercial kitchens.
• Exhibit mechanical skills and interpret diagrams and schematics.
• Liaise with manufacturers for troubleshooting and parts identification.
• Consult with the Technical Assistance Group for on-site technical support.
• Install customer-ordered parts promptly and professionally in line with company policies.
• Promote and suggest additional Smart Care services as necessary.
• Create accurate administrative documents, such as work orders, time reports, receipts, and truck stock inventory.
• Adhere to safe work practices and follow accident prevention procedures.
• Keep the service vehicle organized and manage parts and tool inventory accurately.
• Maintain productivity levels in accordance with company standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of technical experience in refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC, or relevant military service.
• A valid driver’s license and a satisfactory motor vehicle record.
• Willingness to participate in the emergency on-call rotation, which may include nights and weekends.
• Availability for occasional overnight travel as assigned.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
• Capability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, and occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, pressurized steam equipment, open flames, heated surfaces, liquids, and potential electrical hazards in humid, damp, or freezing environments.
• Capacity to work on ladders, roofs, and other elevated areas.
• Relevant technical training, licenses, and/or certifications (e.g., EPA, CFESA) are preferred.
• Experience in repairing commercial refrigeration and/or commercial cooking equipment is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision is preferred.
• On-the-job training with available on-demand technical support.
• Continuous formal hands-on and classroom training at the National Training Kitchen.
• Professional CFESA certifications with opportunities for advancement.
