Senior/Principal CGD Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Commercial Grade Dedication on AP1000 construction projects.

• Provide technical leadership, oversight, and governance over supplier CGD programs.

• Ensure that commercial-grade items utilized in safety-related applications comply with design, regulatory, and quality standards.

• Function as the Design Authority Subject Matter Expert for CGD across AP1000 initiatives.

• Identify safety functions and critical characteristics by analyzing design documentation.

• Review supplier CGD procedures, plans, and methodologies.

• Assess the technical adequacy of item determinations, critical characteristics, and methodologies.

• Ensure adherence to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, and EPRI guidance.

• Address technical gaps, risks, and nonconformances.

• Work collaboratively with suppliers, EPC partners, and engineering teams.

• Integrate CGD requirements into design, procurement, and construction processes.

• Create guidance, training materials, and best practices.

• Report directly to the Manager of Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Civil, or a related field).

• Over 15 years of experience in the nuclear industry.

• Proficient in Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and procurement engineering.

• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, nuclear QA, and EPRI CGD guidance.

• Experience in reviewing or overseeing supplier CGD programs.

• Experience with AP1000 or new build/EPC projects.

• Background in Design Authority or engineering oversight roles.

• Experience with NRC audits and inspections.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or advanced degree is preferred.

• Capability to support relevant United States and comparable export control regulations.
