This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +9 more states.
β’ Design protection and control systems for substations in accordance with relevant codes and client standards.
β’ Create one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC and DC schematics, logic diagrams, functional diagrams, panel layouts, wiring and connection diagrams, interconnection diagrams, communication systems, bills of materials, and SCADA systems.
β’ Develop designs for protective relaying and control systems for transmission and distribution substations.
β’ Formulate relay protection strategies, establish relay setting criteria, devise control philosophies, and perform engineering calculations.
β’ Generate specifications for equipment and materials, define design scopes, and prepare cost estimates.
β’ Finalize conceptual designs and layouts for protection and control systems in both new and existing substation facilities.
β’ Compile documentation to support procurement, construction, commissioning, and the operation and maintenance of systems.
β’ Engage in client meetings and site visits.
β’ Present engineering solutions, address technical challenges, and facilitate project execution.
β’ Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
β’ Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes, including the technical review and approval of engineering design packages.
β’ Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
β’ 4-7 years of experience in Substation Protection & Control design engineering.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
β’ Exceptional document management and organizational skills.
β’ Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
β’ Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines concurrently.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
