This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Lead the migration efforts from ROS 1 to ROS 2 for software utilized in autonomous vehicles.

• Analyze, refactor, and transition existing components based on ROS, developed in C++ and Python.

• Migrate functionalities related to navigation, localization, autonomy, and vehicle control to ROS 2.

• Integrate and validate various vehicle sensors, hardware interfaces, and control systems.

• Configure DDS/QoS communication while addressing performance, synchronization, and reliability challenges.

• Conduct integration, regression, simulation, and vehicle-level testing.

• Collaborate closely with customer engineering teams.

• Offer technical guidance and support.

• Document decisions made during the migration process.

• Oversee the migration of an existing production autonomous UGV platform, ensuring that the current system behavior is maintained.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive professional experience with both ROS 1 and ROS 2.

• Prior involvement in projects focused on migrating from ROS 1 to ROS 2.

• Proficient C++ development skills.

• Competent in Python programming.

• Experience in Linux development environments.

• Background in autonomous vehicles, robotics platforms, or unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) systems.

• Knowledge in navigation, localization, vehicle control, and system integration.

• Familiarity with configuring and optimizing DDS/QoS.

• Experience utilizing AI tools in routine workflows.

• Knowledge of ros_control / ros2_control, robot_localization, Nav2, and BehaviorTree.CPP.

• Experience with GNSS-based localization and sensor fusion techniques.

• Proficient in integrating CAN-based vehicle interfaces.

• Understanding of steering and braking systems.

• Familiarity with Fields2Cover.

• Proficient in using Foxglove or similar tools for robotics debugging and visualization.
