Senior/Principal CGD Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.

📋 Description

• Provide support for AP1000 new construction projects as a Subject Matter Expert in Commercial Grade Dedication.

• Deliver technical leadership, oversight, review, and governance of supplier CGD programs.

• Ensure that commercial-grade items utilized in safety-related applications adhere to design, regulatory, and quality standards.

• Act as the Design Authority Subject Matter Expert for CGD across AP1000 initiatives.

• Identify safety functions and critical characteristics based on design documentation.

• Assess supplier CGD procedures, plans, and methodologies.

• Evaluate the technical adequacy of item determinations, critical characteristics, and methodologies.

• Ensure adherence to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, and EPRI guidance.

• Address technical gaps, risks, and nonconformances.

• Collaborate with suppliers, EPC partners, and engineering teams.

• Integrate CGD requirements into design, procurement, and construction processes.

• Develop guidance, training, and best practices.

• Report directly to the Manager of Operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Civil, or a related field).

• Over 15 years of experience in the nuclear industry.

• Proven expertise in Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) and procurement engineering.

• Familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, nuclear QA, and EPRI CGD guidance.

• Experience in reviewing or governing supplier CGD programs.

• Background in AP1000 or new build/EPC project experience.

• Experience in Design Authority or engineering oversight roles.

• Prior NRC audit/inspection experience.

• Possession of a PE license or advanced degree.

• Must comply with applicable United States and comparable export control requirements where necessary.
