Senior/Mid-Level Federal Planner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in developing innovative solutions for community planning, facilities planning, master planning, resilience planning, engagement and facilitation, partnership development, and various other planning needs.

• Aid in meeting federal planning requirements with the Department of Defense.

• Potentially support planning needs for the National Park Service (NPS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), other federal entities, state and local governments, private organizations, and non-governmental organizations.

• Perform research, analysis, and writing tasks related to project specifications.

• Carry out project-based assignments and adhere to established deadlines.

• Facilitate charrettes, workshops, meetings, and site visits, which may require travel.

• Senior-level responsibilities may involve federal project management and/or team leadership.

• Interact with clients and manage client relationships as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, geography, public policy, or related fields.

• A Master’s degree is advantageous.

• Mid-level candidates should have 3+ years of relevant experience.

• Senior-level candidates must possess 7+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong understanding of community planning processes is essential.

• Outstanding research, analysis, and writing abilities are required.

• Excellent written, graphic, and verbal communication skills are a must.

• Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently in a flexible work environment.

• High level of organization and meticulous attention to detail is necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; completion of DHS Form I-9 and E-Verify verification is required.

• A successful background check is a condition of any final offer.

• Background and credit checks may be necessary to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

• Up to 15% travel may be required.

• AICP certification is a significant advantage.

• Certifications in landscape architecture, LEED, Sustainable Sites, charrette facilitation, GIS, or related areas are beneficial.

• Experience with federal projects is a strong advantage.

• Technical skills in Adobe Creative Suite, CAD, GIS, similar software tools, and/or hand renderings are highly desirable.

• Resume and GPA are required for consideration; professional and/or academic references, unofficial college transcripts, and a writing sample will eventually be required.
