Senior/Lead Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Oversee, coordinate, and manage the scope, budget, and timeline for software delivery initiatives.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on a daily basis, fostering strong project-level relationships.

• Negotiate project scope, priorities, and adjustments with client stakeholders.

• Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and technical challenges in collaboration with technical leads.

• Distribute tasks effectively and oversee team workload management.

• Ensure that distributed teams remain aligned, motivated, and productive.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and strive for continuous improvement in delivery processes.

• Deliver regular updates on project status, risks, and budget to both the client and internal management.

• Provide performance feedback and support the development of team members.

• In a Lead capacity, mentor fellow project managers and help establish delivery standards across the account.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of project management experience within a software development context.

• At least 3 years of experience in client-facing roles at a service organization or agency.

• Technical knowledge of architecture, integrations, APIs, environments, and release processes.

• Capability to question estimates and recognize technical risks early on.

• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and hybrid delivery models.

• Demonstrated accountability for scope, timeline, and budget on medium to large-scale projects.

• Experience in managing multiple projects or workstreams concurrently.

• Proven ability to lead distributed teams across various countries and time zones.

• Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior client representatives.

• Strong negotiation skills regarding scope, timelines, and change requests.

• Effective and structured verbal and written communication skills.

• Practical experience using Jira, Confluence, and MS Office.

• Proficiency in English at a B2+ level, with confident spoken English for client communications.
