Senior/Lead Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive software delivery process for a long-term client engagement from start to finish.

• Strategically plan, manage, and oversee the scope, budget, and timeline of software delivery projects.

• Serve as the primary contact for the client regarding daily delivery operations, maintaining the client relationship at the project level.

• Negotiate project scope, priorities, and change requests with client stakeholders effectively.

• Proactively identify and manage risks, dependencies, and technical issues by collaborating closely with technical leads.

• Assign tasks and oversee workload distribution within the team.

• Ensure that a distributed team remains aligned, motivated, and productive.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and continuously enhance delivery processes.

• Deliver clear and regular updates on project status, risks, and budget to both the client and internal management.

• Provide performance feedback to team members and contribute to their professional development.

• In a Lead capacity, mentor other Project Managers and help establish delivery standards across the account.

• Collaborate with distributed, cross-functional teams across multiple countries.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of project management experience within a software development context, including at least 3 years in client-facing roles at a service company or agency.

• Proficient in discussing architecture, integrations, APIs, environments, and release processes with engineering teams.

• Capable of challenging estimates and identifying technical risks at an early stage.

• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and hybrid delivery frameworks.

• Demonstrated ownership of project scope, timelines, and budgets for medium to large-scale projects.

• Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.

• Proven experience leading distributed teams across various countries and time zones.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly with senior client contacts.

• Strong negotiation abilities regarding scope, timelines, and change requests.

• Remain calm and constructive during escalations and challenging conversations.

• Clear and organized verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Jira, Confluence, and MS Office applications.

• English proficiency at B2+ level, with confident spoken English for client interactions.

• Candidates with prior experience as a Delivery Manager may also be considered if they are prepared to work hands-on at the project level.

• Nice-to-have: a technical background (e.g., former engineer, business analyst, or quality assurance).

• Nice-to-have: relevant experience in specific domains.

• Previous experience managing Data Engineering/Science projects is advantageous.

• Nice-to-have: practical experience using AI tools in project delivery.

• Nice-to-have: professional project management certifications (PMP, PSM, PRINCE2).
