Senior/Lead Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate software delivery processes from start to finish for a long-term client partnership.

• Strategically plan, manage, and oversee project scope, budget, and timelines.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on a daily basis, maintaining the project-level client relationship.

• Negotiate project scope, priorities, and modification requests.

• Recognize and manage risks, dependencies, and technical challenges in collaboration with technical leads.

• Assign tasks and oversee team workload distribution.

• Ensure distributed teams are aligned, motivated, and productive.

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies and enhance delivery processes.

• Provide regular updates on status, risks, and budget to clients and internal management.

• Offer performance feedback and play a role in team member development.

• At the Lead level, mentor fellow project managers and contribute to the delivery standards across the account.

• The position also includes a separate Senior Data Engineer section detailing the design and implementation of cloud data platforms, batch/streaming pipelines, AI/GenAI data systems, governance, observability, and collaboration with data and ML teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of project management experience in a software development setting, including a minimum of 3 years in client-facing roles within a service company or agency.

• Technically proficient, with a solid understanding of architecture, integrations, APIs, environments, and release processes; capable of challenging estimates and identifying technical risks.

• Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies and hybrid delivery models.

• Demonstrated ownership of scope, timelines, and budget on medium to large-scale projects.

• Experience managing multiple projects or workstreams concurrently.

• Proven ability to lead distributed teams across various countries and time zones.

• Excellent stakeholder management skills, including relationships with senior client contacts.

• Strong negotiation abilities regarding scope, timelines, and change requests.

• Clear and structured verbal and written communication skills.

• Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, and MS Office.

• Proficient in English at a B2+ level, with confident spoken English for client interactions.

• Professional PM certifications (PMP, PSM, PRINCE2) are advantageous.

• For the Senior Data Engineer section: extensive hands-on experience with Apache Spark and Delta Lake; strong proficiency in Python and SQL; batch and streaming pipelines; production-grade data platforms; data modeling, quality, and governance; experience with Databricks Lakehouse Platform; deep expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure/Fabric); lakehouse architectures and distributed systems; understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance.
