Senior Web Software Engineer, Data Science Prototyping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Data Scientists to co-create prototypes by discussing proposed data models, identifying unresolved questions, planning effective methodologies to address them, and presenting results to stakeholders.

• Select implementation strategies that balance speed and practicality, ensuring prototypes deliver confident answers promptly.

• Develop APIs that provide backend data for internal and other prototypes.

• Assist data scientists in constructing prototypes that tackle open questions and showcase proposed solutions.

• Design prototypes that enable industry-leading product advancements and leverage cutting-edge and emerging technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in a hands-on web development position, with a focus on front-end development.

• Strong grasp of data visualization principles.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and low-level data visualization frameworks such as d3, visx, or WebGL.

• Experience in creating custom interactions and innovative user interface components.

• Excellent communication skills and a background in collaborating closely with data scientists and/or ML engineers.

• Must reside in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.

• Previous experience in a prototyping role is an advantage.
