This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead the creation of the annual 5-Year Capital Plan encompassing 75 hotels.
• Manage the capital review and approval process, prioritizing projects based on ROI, risk, brand compliance, and asset necessities.
• Supervise capital expenditures related to renovations and both major and ordinary capital projects.
• Ensure project teams adhere to budgets, timelines, and quality benchmarks.
• Uphold design and construction standards that align with brand requirements and ownership goals.
• Lead facilities and engineering operations across all 75 hotels, including preventive maintenance, repairs, life safety, and building systems.
• Establish engineering standards, staffing models, and performance metrics.
• Mentor property engineering teams to enhance their capabilities.
• Conduct physical plant assessments and integrate equipment life-cycle considerations into the capital plan.
• Oversee repairs and maintenance expenditures while benchmarking hotel performance.
• Negotiate and manage enterprise service contracts and warranties effectively.
• Provide executive oversight for Atrium’s energy program alongside third-party energy consultants.
• Define energy strategy and objectives, review procurement suggestions, and ensure accountability for outcomes and expenses.
• Promote energy and water efficiency through building automation, upgrades, and operational practices.
• Track utility costs and consumption while addressing discrepancies in hotel performance.
• Take advantage of available utility rebates and incentives.
• Participate in the Executive Team and contribute to the overall company strategy and decision-making processes.
• Report to the CEO and ownership regarding capital projects, engineering expenditures, energy performance, forecasts, and cash requirements.
• Develop, lead, and enhance capital, facilities, and engineering teams.
• Facilitate communication among corporate, hotel teams, brand partners, and vendors.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the hotel industry.
• Proven senior leadership experience in capital projects and facilities or engineering operations across a multi-property portfolio.
• Demonstrated track record of managing over $100M in annual expenditures with measurable outcomes.
• Experience in overseeing energy management programs.
• Proven ability to hold external consultants or vendors accountable for their performance.
• Strong understanding of brand standards and PIP requirements for major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and others.
• Solid financial acumen, including the ability to connect spending decisions with ROI, asset value, and owner returns.
• Clear and concise communication style with the CEO, ownership, and hotel teams.
• Proven capability to build, coach, and motivate high-performing teams.
• Extensive knowledge of National Hotel Brands product positioning requirements and future brand standard strategies related to design and technology enhancements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Finance, or a related discipline.
