Senior Vice President – Environmental

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assess intricate and high-value submissions to determine risk acceptance, pricing strategies, and coverage terms.

• Offer expert guidance and mentorship to underwriters regarding risk analysis, policy structuring, and portfolio management.

• Create and implement underwriting guidelines, best practices, and quality control measures.

• Ensure compliance and minimize exposure.

• Work in collaboration with actuarial, legal, and product teams to develop insurance solutions and pricing models.

• Evaluate market trends, loss ratios, and competitor insights to guide product positioning and underwriting strategies.

• Assist in addressing escalated underwriting challenges.

• Negotiate terms with brokers and clients concerning specialty risks.

• Participate in training programs, thought leadership initiatives, and technology integration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fluency in the English language is required.

• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field is necessary.

• Over 10 years of progressive underwriting experience in property, casualty, or specialty lines.

• Demonstrated proficiency in handling complex accounts.

• Proven history of advising underwriting teams and influencing strategic risk decisions.

• Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks and insurance rating methodologies.

• Advanced skills in risk assessment and policy analysis.

• Strong negotiation and decision-making skills.

• Proficient in underwriting systems, data analytics tools, and reporting platforms.

• In-depth knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and market dynamics.

• Leadership capabilities to mentor and guide diverse underwriting teams.
