This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct research that is both generative and evaluative on initiatives related to Field and Consumer.
• Investigate the needs of homeowners, consumers, trade-business users, technicians, and frontline workers.
• Establish expertise in understanding the people and challenges pertinent to Field and Consumer.
• Produce actionable insights that will shape product features, functions, design priorities, vision, and roadmaps.
• Prioritize research inquiries that are in alignment with team objectives.
• Develop and refine research strategies for Field and Consumer.
• Work together with Data Science and Analytics to assess the influence of research recommendations on existing products and features.
• Employ AI-assisted analysis to explore what-if scenarios and compile reusable insight objects and prompts.
• Guide Associate UX Researchers.
• Provide coaching to Product Designers and PMs on research exploration and discovery methodologies.
• Facilitate and expand self-service usability testing.
• Collaborate on the logistics of usability studies, including scheduling, hardware, software, and both remote and on-site sessions.
• Determine recruiting needs, draft screeners, and source suitable participants.
• Conduct interviews and assess candidates for UX Research positions.
• 5-8 years of proven experience working collaboratively on the development of new products or features from conception through to launch.
• Demonstrated capability in conducting meaningful research with both business users and their end consumers, preferably in a two-sided or multi-sided product environment.
• Experience in field research methods, such as contextual inquiries, in-home or on-site studies, and ride-alongs with technicians or frontline workers.
• Proven track record of contributing to strategic research that leads to significant product roadmap decisions.
• In-depth understanding of research methodologies and the ability to choose the appropriate method for specific tasks.
• Strong portfolio showcasing research deliverables that align with business goals and provide actionable insights that directly impact decision-making.
• Experience in coaching or empowering non-researchers to conduct their own research is an advantage.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across various functions and teams.
• A degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
