This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Offers underwriting assistance, advice, and authorization to company staff, agents, and clients regarding the issuance of real estate title insurance commitments and policies.

• Applies underwriting standards and guidelines within designated authority limits to facilitate the issuance of title insurance.

• Provides support to company staff in executing real estate settlement services.

• Issues underwriting standards and guidelines in line with established company procedures.

• Shares information related to underwriting and real estate settlement services with the team.

• Creates and delivers seminar content for the ongoing education of real estate and title agents as well as attorneys.

• Requires occasional local travel for business meetings and events.

• Executes additional tasks as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (Law Degree) is mandatory.

• Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state of licensure.

• 8-10 years of experience in title underwriting is essential.

• Experience in Virginia title underwriting is required.

• Familiarity with real estate law is necessary.

• Strong understanding of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures related to real estate title and settlement processes.

• Knowledge of federal and state regulations pertinent to real estate title insurance and settlement services.

• Comprehension of underwriting real estate transactions for title insurance policy issuance.

• Capacity to collaborate effectively and make prompt decisions.

• Attention to detail is crucial.

• Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills are required.

• Strong organizational abilities, capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and following up in a timely manner.

• Proficient negotiation skills are necessary.

• Requires abstract thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.

• Ability to think creatively and make sound yet unconventional decisions to address complex challenges.

• Skilled in building relationships and establishing rapport.
