Senior Transmission Line Engineer – Part-time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Function as an Engineer on design projects for electric transmission lines, focusing on high-voltage and extra high-voltage overhead and underground systems.

• Implement NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other relevant standards in engineering and design practices.

• Engage in voltage conversion, new capacity, and infrastructure replacement initiatives.

• Execute OE functions and conduct engineering analyses.

• Create bidding documents.

• Prepare detailed plans and specifications.

• Develop documents for material procurement and construction.

• Collaborate with a diverse team at Leidos.

• Interact with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.

• Create project scopes, budgets, and proposals.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

• At least four (4) years of relevant experience in designing electric utility transmission systems.

• Proficiency in reviewing comprehensive transmission line designs, including PLS-CADD models, foundations, materials, plan profiles, and construction packages.

• Familiarity with NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements.

• Understanding of construction specifications, the material procurement process, project schedules, and construction work packages.

• Capability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.

• Ability to function effectively in both team settings and independently.

• Demonstrated communication skills with clients and project teams.

• Proficient in programs such as PLS-CADD and POLE.

• Experience with LPILE or FAD Tools.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Potential for client office work and/or periodic travel may be necessary.
