Senior Test Automation Engineer, Freelance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive end-to-end test automation frameworks utilizing Playwright and TypeScript.

• Write and execute automated test scripts that encompass functional, regression, and integration scenarios.

• Establish and document QA practices, procedures, and standards that are scalable within the organization.

• Collaborate closely with developers to investigate, analyze, and resolve defects while promoting automation testing best practices.

• Contribute to story planning and the definition of acceptance criteria during Scrum ceremonies.

• Track, analyze, and report on software quality metrics throughout sprints and releases.

• Serve as a key point of escalation for software quality issues, facilitating resolution across the team.

• Recommend and implement enhancements to improve software quality and user experience.

• Stay updated on industry trends and automation tools, sharing insights with the team.

• Work on internal tools that support client matching, sales, and operations workflows for a luxury travel and hospitality company.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in test automation, with a strong expertise in Playwright and TypeScript.

• In-depth understanding of testing methodologies including functional, regression, UAT, system integration, and exploratory testing.

• Proven experience in designing and building test automation frameworks from the ground up.

• Demonstrable experience with AI coding agents, or a genuine eagerness to learn and master them rapidly.

• Solid knowledge of git and version control practices within a team setting.

• Strong grasp of the DOM and the ability to write reliable, maintainable locator strategies.

• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail).

• Capability to clearly communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in usability and accessibility testing.

• Background in working within Agile/Scrum teams.

• Proficiency in English.

• Friendly, supportive, positive, and can-do attitude.

• Nice to have: Experience with Jira and writing clear developer documentation in Notion.

• Nice to have: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
