QA Automation Engineer, Robot Framework

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop, construct, and sustain comprehensive automated test suites using Robot Framework and Selenium.

• Enhance the automation framework with tailored Python libraries and keywords.

• Automate validation of API-level business logic beneath the user interface.

• Incorporate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.

• Create and manage the regression test suite, focusing on high-risk business processes.

• Design and oversee masked and synthetic datasets for testing.

• Ensure validation of permission hierarchies and tenant-level data isolation.

• Analyze failed test runs to identify underlying issues.

• Present quality metrics, including coverage, execution time, test stability, and escaped production defects.

• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and clients across various time zones.

• Document automation patterns to contribute to team knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years in software quality assurance.

• At least 3 years dedicated specifically to test automation.

• Practical experience with Robot Framework, including the development and maintenance of custom libraries.

• Strong command of Python, including its modules, classes, decorators, and type hints.

• Established expertise with Selenium WebDriver, including explicit wait strategies and resilient locator techniques.

• Experience in automating REST API tests and ensuring data consistency across different layers.

• Proficient in SQL for preparing test data and conducting backend validation.

• Experience incorporating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.

• Solid understanding of Git and best practices for code review.

• Familiarity with risk-based testing, edge case identification, regression strategies, and automation prioritization.

• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

• Experience in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones, with some overlap with United States Pacific business hours.

• Experience with Playwright or the Robot Framework Browser library is a plus.

• Familiarity with Pabot and reporting tools like Allure is advantageous.

• Experience testing document-heavy or highly configurable SaaS platforms is beneficial.

• Knowledge of Docker and containerized testing environments is a plus.

• Exposure to performance and load testing using JMeter or k6 is desirable.

• Understanding of compliance-driven testing, including audit trails, access controls, and SOC 2 requirements is advantageous.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted tools for generating and maintaining test scripts is a bonus.
