Senior Test Automation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland, +3 more countries.

📋 Description

• Operate within a fully agile framework, collaborating with senior engineers while independently managing tasks.

• Assess and analyze business requirements and technical specifications alongside BAs and developers to guarantee testability, clarity, and proactive bug prevention.

• Conduct thorough testing of new features, including manual testing procedures.

• Create automated test scenarios utilizing Gherkin syntax and the existing automation framework.

• Develop and sustain QA documentation for the team.

• Work in conjunction with other products concerning the functionality of implemented solutions.

• Confirm data accuracy and the reliability of data pipelines.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in software quality assurance.

• In-depth knowledge of test design techniques to guarantee optimal test coverage.

• Proficient understanding of any programming language (Java, C#, Python, or Typescript).

• Strong grasp of SQL; capable of writing complex SQL queries (joins, aggregations, groupings) for in-depth data validation.

• Professional experience with Spark and Spark SQL (Spark jobs, DataFrames/Datasets, data querying).

• Familiarity with Delta Lake or any of its implementations.

• Understanding of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) concepts and practical experience with frameworks like Cucumber, SpecFlow, or similar.

• Strong knowledge of Git (branching, merging, rebasing, conflict resolution).

• Good comprehension of containerization (running, inspecting, and troubleshooting).

• Hands-on experience utilizing AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or specialized QA agents) to enhance test case generation, bug analysis, and script writing.

• B1+ proficiency in both English and Russian.

• Strong troubleshooting and debugging abilities for data discrepancies.

• Basic knowledge of the Scala programming language.

• Experience with Apache Airflow.

• Basic experience with Apache Kafka for testing event-driven systems.

• Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar), including the ability to interpret pipeline failures.

• Capability to write and interpret Bash scripts for task automation and environment configuration.

• Familiarity with AI Agents, Skills, and MCP.

• Experience integrating AI capabilities into testing workflows to enhance efficiency.
